Strath & Sleat Church of Scotland
It is in the DNA of Strath & Sleat Church of Scotland to be concerned for the spiritual and material well-being of those within its community and others well beyond. For many years we have been supporting the work of Blythswood International in Eastern Europe, the Indian sub-continent and in Africa. More recently Strath & Sleat has developed a close partnership with Hope & Faith School in Lusaka, Zambia. In addition, the church as a whole sustains a growing network of missionaries, most of whom are connected through bonds of blood and friendship.
The link to ‘With Refugees Scotland’ is currently through the minister, Rory MacLeod (pictured, left), who is a long-standing supporter of Tearfund and Christian Solidarity Worldwide, for whom he has run workshops concerning personal protection and survival for human rights campaigners in Colombia. He is also a practitioner of ‘Scriptural Reasoning’ and is keen to generate inter-faith dialogue on the Isle of Skye – as soon as he can locate willing participants!
